Planning the music for a wedding in Morocco means navigating one of the world’s richest musical cultures. From the imperial Andalusian heritage of Fès and Meknes to the pulsing Gnaoua rhythms of Essaouira’s ancient medina — every city, every tradition, every formation tells a different story. Maison Scene helps you write yours.
The first impression matters most. A chamber ensemble — Andalusian quartet, solo ‘oud or acoustic duo — greets guests as they arrive. Volume controlled, conversation possible, atmosphere unmistakably Moroccan. This is when the emotional register is set for the entire evening.
Whether a traditional Moroccan ceremony or a contemporary fusion celebration, music anchors every moment. The bride’s entrance, the exchange of vows or rings, the first shared moment as a couple — each deserves a specifically chosen piece, played live. Maison Scene works with each couple to compose a personalised musical programme for the ceremony.
The Oriental orchestra takes over. Eight to twelve musicians fill the room with the repertoire the guests know and love: Fairouz, Um Kulthum, classic Moroccan songs, Lebanese ballads. The energy builds gradually, punctuated by moments of audience interaction and musical surprises.
This is Morocco’s speciality — the all-night celebration. A Chaabi band replaces or supplements the orchestra, taking the dance floor from midnight to dawn. Alternatively, a professional DJ provides the musical continuity for the late hours. The Maison Scene « Orchestra + DJ » package is our most requested combination.
An integral part of traditional Moroccan weddings, the henna night has its own distinct musical tradition: women’s singing, bendir frame drums, zorna and intimate acoustic music. Maison Scene coordinates these pre-wedding celebrations with the same care as the main event.
